I capture the photo, I don’t make the photograph but together we create art.
You see the lens. I see the vibrations, the shadows, and the emotion.
A sensation grabs me.
I feel the image. I imagine a story.
I photograph action and events to capture the challenge, the suspense,
and the beauty of a candid moment. It is more exciting to freeze the motion of a subject
in their raw emotion; it’s not anticipated or an artificial expression practiced in front of a
backdrop. I enjoy the experience of photographing one being simply human.
The coach’s anger, the athlete’s pride, the fan’s jubilance, and my lens capturing
every stimulating angle from 18mm to 500mm; I love snapping the memory, the
passion, the thrill, and the diversity.
My forte is black and white photography. It strikes me like a romantic poem, and I
hope it leaves with others a comparable fascination. I use black and white photography
because of how it expresses the emotion through dramatic contrast. I’m captivated by
the rhythm and the form of my subject in action, and the effect that resonates with me
as a spectator. I want my photos to communicate with my viewer and I want them to
connect with the image by feeling what they see... just as I do.
